Late Bhaskarrao Shingne Arts, Prof. Narayanrao Gawande Science and Ashalata Gawande Commerce College, Sakharkherda (formerly called as Late Bhaskarrao Shingne Arts College) located at rural place Sakharkherda which is run and governed by Nehru Yuwa Krida and Sanskrutik Mandal Chikhli to disseminate value based education and uplift the vocational skills of rural masses for their holistic development. The college was established in response to the dire needs of the young generation of peasants, the landless workers, and poor-downtrodden inhabitants of the region, who instead of academic brilliance had no hope for higher education. The college fulfills its mission of creating an educational environment for the spiraling development of such people under the scholarly guidance of the pioneers, President and Management, Principal, Teaching, Non-teaching staff. The institute ensures proper representation of teachers, students and other stakeholders in various committees and activities. The college was started with B.A. as the main stream in the year 2000 which is affiliated to S.G.B. Amravati University. The commerce and science stream was started in the year 2008 with same affiliation.

The college was the result of a noble and shining vision and it was to develop this rural and backward region through education based on human values, social responsibility and patriotism. It is a multi-faculty college private, grant-in aid institute with ISO certification and 2F & 12 B recognition having Programmes across Arts, Commerce, Science and B.Voc. streams and PG program in Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Marathi & Sociology along with research centre in Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, History, Library & Information Science, Home Economics, Commerce , add on, certificate courses to foster global competencies among students. To promote ICT enabled teaching and learning teachers are regularly deputed to undertake faculty development programme /orientation/refresher/ workshops .

The College is a premier academic institution in this region located in 7 acres sprawling campus with constructed area admeasuring 85322 sq. ft having efficient ICT facility for effective curriculum delivery. College now entering second consecutive cycle of quality assessment and accreditation and takes it as an opportunity to strengthen assurance and enhance its capabilities. To facilitate the all-round development of students, various co- curricular and extra–curricular activities are conducted and students of the college also participated in cultural/sports activities at university/state /national level.

The institution has learned and highly qualified faculty members who are experts in their respective subjects discharging their duties with a sense of dedication and devotion having Patent at international and national level with publication in the journals of repute.

The serene campus of the college provides students with conducive environment for study and such an environment automatically turns students to learning with full concentration and devoid of diversions. The campus beautification is maintained through landscaping and planting various trees on the campus. Large number of trees have been planted to conserve the natural beauty and environment of the campus, for which college, was conferred with the “Vanashree Award ” in the year 2012 by Government of Maharashtra, “Paryawaran Puraskar ” in the year 2016 , “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan Award” in year 2016 and “NSS Best Unit and Program Officer Award” in year 2018 by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Apart from that “One District Green Champion Award” in year 2021 by MGNCRE.

The induction programme was brought in with a view to uplift the level of the entrants to an elevated stage, promote all-round development and exposing learners’ stigmas to minimize and to maximize their learning. Learners come with diverse thoughts, backgrounds & perceptions. Hence it becomes important to help them adjust to the new environment & inculcate the ethos of the institution with a sense of larger purpose. That is where the lacuna lies which demands a program dynamic enough to address the issue. BVM has organized a Two week induction programme with an objective to provide ample of time and a platform for the transition of students from school to the hard-core engineering. An induction programme is a harbinger of various in-campus & off-campus activities specially designed for entrants to fill the gap.


Considering a long break since the month of April, induction programme has been proved to be a fun mingled educational activity of adapting motivation and recourse to their procrastinated educational goals. The interaction with the induction programme equipped entrants not only with the boost to their educational pursuits but also with the work-culture, industrial exposure, social experiences, and various institutional activities.
